Right I have the Astra and Cavalier Haynes here.Originally posted by PhilAstraSport
hmm, these wires actually come out from the tc ecu and head towards the rear
si's abs unit - the 1 in his astra, i meant would the connector already b wired for the traction control/speedo or would i have to add extra pins?
thinkin about it, did the astra GSi have an electronic speedo? if not, would the TC output still drive the speedo ok?
have seen the connections between the 2

Astra info (Assuming 92 onwards):

The Haynes doesn't show an Electronic Speedo option for the Astra, so this could become awkward. The OptoSensor on the standard instruments (driven by the Speedo cable) connects to a number of devices, providing a speed signal.
2. Motronic or Multec ECU
3. DID/Trip Comp.
The ECU connection will be as for the Cav, so connecting the ABS signal to it will work as normal.
The speed signal from the Astra OptoSensor and ABS may or may not be the same, so the Radio may operate as normal, but who cares, you'll have an aftermarket jobbie in there in any case!
The MID(Trip Computer) will read ******, cos the V6 injectors are smaller than whatever was in the old lump, and you get 3 injections instead of 2 per engine rev.
Back to the Cav loom the TC connections are numerous:
Best look at a Haynes. I'll try and scan a pic if u don't have one, but my haynes is a bit yellow and don't scan too well.
They Astra and Cav wiring appears to be identical from what I can work out, excluding the speed signal for the Dash, which you know about.
What are you doing with the numerous fans, pumps and stuff that is on the V6 CAV?
Are you gonna try an wire them all up properly? someone on Cavweb has fitted a V6, to an SRI Cav I believe it was, and AndyK and mslef spent a while discussing the V6 Cooling arrangements!!
