    Supercharged omega mv6 2.6

Hello all im new to the site and as said iv got an omega 2.6 mv6 facelift model which iv had supercharged, i need some info on the v6 engine as its a standard lump which has started to put out a bit of blue smoke so i will be needing to rebuild it soon, piston rings, stem seals and possibly rebore etc. Im just after some info on which uprated parts are nescessary and best as i want the motor to be able to handle a lot more boost so if anyone on here has one of these engines similar to my mine then it would be good to chat and up my knowledge on this engine, cheers everyone, look forward to chatting to some vauxhall nuts!!

Ok quick car update for ya'll, its a 2000 model mv6 manual in black, its lowered 40mm all round on uprated shocks and springs, it got grooved discs on the front with decent pads all round, stainless exhaust system with performance cats (needed for the charger), theres a pretty loud system in there with a couple of 15's in the boot, the rest of the car is standard looking for stealth. It goes like a rocket and stops well too but to anyone looking you'd be none the wiser apart from it being lowered, but now iv come to a stop because the engine is getting tired so im looking to uprate it big time but my experience with these engines is limited, i understand that maybe the 3.0 is the one to go for, what do you think? Id prefer to keep the 2.6 for originallity but other than that im open to opinions, pictures will be on here soon, cheers Deano

it would be good to know what internal engine mods have been done so we know how to advise on uprating for more boost potential.

For example it could be bog standard internally running minimum boost (which is fine), if thats the case a rebore to XE/LET piston size and some standard LET (or better) pistons would be the best way to go about lowering the compression. Then better rods (no idea how strong the standard units are) if required.

BTW loving forced induction V6 engines, don't see many about.

Hello all thanks for the replies. The engine is standard and the supercharger is running around .6 bar of boost, it was done by jamsport and has been very good untill recently with it starting to smoke, what youv said Johnny A about the xe/let pistons sounds interesting, what sort of capacity increase would they give it, also im interested in camming it too, can anyone recommend decent cams for it, it doesnt have to rev high as with the charger on the rev limit has dropped to about 6000 rpm so some bottom end power cams would be good. I havnt got any pictures to put up just yet but ill take some tommorow when its light, cheers all

depends on the 2.6's current bore. Sure you would see a minor gain but it's primary role to to lower compression to run more boost

I know that the 2.5 block needs the bore increased to fit the LET pistons, using 2.5 crank and rods + LET pistons makes around a 2.8 litre. So it comes down to how vauxhall got from 2.5-2.6litres... was it a larger piston or did they use the 3.0 crank with 2.5-sized pistons??

The nature of superchargers means you run N/A cams basically, so a set of fast road cams would do well. Also making up some tubular exhaust downpipes would make a big difference too (no cheap tho).
