Oil into the water is typical signs of a porous head, mainly due to the fact where the head cracks the oil is firstly above the water (so when there is no pressure, the water isn't going to seep through the crack and end up with water in the oil) and secondly the crack is usually very small so the fluids have to be under pressure to pass through it - the oil in that area is under much higher pressure than the water so it will be the oil that gets forced into the water.
I would keep watching it for a while - make sure after the flush you get the symptoms again and its not just some residue from the rebuild you are seeing.
The porous fix is also relatively easy when the head is off - incase you wanted to do the fix so you have a spare head again.

thanks for that mate.
just flushed it twice first. when i drained the water out it was still very clear so i think i will just see how it goes.
