right I am having a small problem at the minute, trying to splice my new MK2 c20xe injection loom into my exisitng mk3 1.8 16v alternator and starting loom.
There is one 6 pin plug that links the two on the old alternator and starting loom, but I want to use the exisitng alternator loom, coz it plugs into the multi plug, on the suspension turret, and the old one doesnt. SO does anyone know what the 6 wires are for please? Haynes manuals wiring diagrams are very difficulyt to understand. I have worked out one is positive!
well thats what i dont understand, the astra Engine loom consists of all the engine sensors, air flow metre connectors, injectors, crank, throttle position, knock sensor etc etc, which all boils down to one bundle that connects to the bosche ecu multiplug. You then have a Car loom which does the fuel pump, the major live connection and the rest.
the latter is the picture i posted. On the astra theres also another chunky round multiplug up by the suspension turret.
Yeah that chnky plug is the problem, its for a mk2 and I have a mk 3 , thats why im trying to use mine, coz its in better nick and the right way round, thats why it wont polug into the mk2 loom, thats why I need the diagrams, to splice it with the mk3 starting loom / wires
