Hmm this would be quite a job. Do you have the GM 1.7D/1.7low blow/Isuzu engine? I would imagine, you'd need the following -
Engine & Box (obviously!)
ECU & loom for 20XE
Driveshafts for new F20 box
All asociated induction bits (eg. air mass meter)
New PAS pump probably
and because it's currently a knocker -
petrol fuel tank & all hoses
petrol fuel pump & necessary wiring
Wiring from ign. switch etc (I don't know how similar it is)
In short - I reckon it could be done but it would be SO much easier starting with a petrol car! Surely the best way of doing it would to buy a complete GSi as a donor car, park the diesel next to it and transfer everything different over. BUT - I think it's a considerable job- perhaps there's someone here who has done this conversion - I haven't!
the reason i ask, i have the astra tds estate and i have a GSi2000, but the cav has been slighty bent and not done by me so i need the money from the astra to repair the GSi.
4 weeks time the tax runs out on Gsi, so then its decision time on what to do.
loads of things going round in my head at the moment
Mm I kno the feeling. Well - if u have somewhere under cover to put both the cars, perhaps u should give it a go. Besides a valver estate would be cool! I still reckon it would be a v. big job tho. The fact that u have a complete GSi can only make the job easier!
Although - if it all goes wrong....................... you then have TWO useless cars instead of one good one and one 'modified' onelmao
When the GSi runs out of tax & u need rid - whip out the bits u would need, sell the car and store 'em for a rainy day?!!!
