1.6 carb engines are normaly a good donor for the dizzy, also you need a mechanical fuel pump or if your going to use the normal pump then you will need an inline fpr to control the fuel pressure going to the carbs,

    Cheers for the replies...

... which models with a 1.6 would be decent donor for the dizzy? and also models for the ignition setup??

and which is better to use, mech fuel pump or inline FPR?? Whats diff between inline FPR and just a normal FPR (or isnt there??)

    Thanks again.

... also, how vital are the filters... as i just dont think theres gunna be enough space in the bay????

Filters are absolutely vital, if space is a problem then filter socks will do.
A diet of grit will kill the engine rather quickly!

An electric pump and a filter king fpr is the best route.
I dont think the 1.6 dizzy fits on the 2.0 8v engine

Yeah, as an injection dizzy doesn't have a mechanical timing advance system, so you wont get the ignition advancing through the revs.

I wouldn't say filters are vital tbh.
Recommended, but not do or die.

filterless probably won't kill it quick. If you're using it as a track car, I wouldn't bother. If it's a rally car then the flying dung potential is higher obviously. Road wise, it's probably an idea, but barring bad luck it'll get by. NEs are only about £7 if it does eat a vole.

id say the filters r pretty essential for the road especially in the winter, probably get away wi it on a track, ive got twin 40's with k&n filters on them, corigated type, they r quite long, try a single domed foam filter that covers all 4 trumpets as it wont stick too far back toward the bulkhead, i think piper x make em?

Really not a good idea to drop from a couple of bar to ~3psi, if the regulator fails you're going to be feeding fuel at ~40psi ore whatever straight to the carbs, if you don't get plenty of borewash and kill it, you're going to start some nice fires... Or both

Saw it happen to a 205 on 45's, not nice.

Much better to get a low pressure fuel pump too.

I dont think there is a straight fit dizzy for the NE/SEH. You can fit the cam box off an earlier 1.8 or 1.6 8v and use the dizzy from that or go the ignition management route.
