Rightyo, got to rebuild the bottom end on a E16SE next weekend. Just a few questions if you please.
Can you change the mains without dropping the crank fully (like the 2 litre)? I've not got them on the order at the moment as i don't think you can.
Whats the best way to hone the bores for new rings?
Trying to track down a 3 stone hone for the weekend. How do you use it? By drill or by hand? I guess moving it up and down as it turns to get the crosshatch patern.
Go over the bores after with wet and dry?
What do people use to clean bits up with? Parafin?
Do I just fit the new shells straight in place of old? Nothing fancy i have to do other than make sure everything is clean and not scrored, then put some fresh oil of them?
Does the 1.6 use the same RTV sump sealant as the 20XE? Anyone got the part number?
