Can we clarify that it is pretty much impossible to exceed 175Bhp with standard induction on an XE? *Yawn* sorry.
The B+ head that Tom fitted to his 8v made an enormous difference, it put his car up a level performance wise, and gave a nice advantage over the 8v unit across the rev range.
Taking a good, stock XE engine.. could a combination of different cams, head, filter, exhaust, TB mod, Powercap(?), chip, rods etc etc take the XE to a level not a million miles away from TB's?
I know that an XE on TB's is fierce but if 180Bhp could be achieved might it not be a worthy opponent?
Money no object I know that 'anything' is possible, but I also know that touring car spec engines are 300Bhp with TB's and god knows what else.
Is 180Bhp and 155+ lb/ft achievable sans throttelus Bodius?
