c20let astra radiator! help!

i've got a c20let in my mk3 astra gsi and the rads started leakin

can anyone tell me if its a calbira turbo rad or a astra one or what it is?



think its a calibra turbo one as it has brackets on the n/s



which im thinking is for the standard intercooler??

or would the piping be the same on just a astra gsi one?

cheers for any help as its leavin all the chrome with water marks everywhere

Looks like a turbo rad, it has the brackets for the cooler....so yeah, i'd say it is.

Just get hold of an astra TD radiator

Oh and that plastic fan is a bad idea, i'd either put it infront of the rad, or get a metal one.

looked at a cav TD rad and the pipes are all in the wrong place! cheapest i can get a pattern turbo rad is 150 plus vat and vauxhall want 215 plus vat!

the std I/C bracket on my turbo rad is completely diffarent to yours, so yours is either earlier or later style on or its not a cal/cav turbo one lol.. are the coolant lines plumbed into your turbo???

That's because you looked at a cav TD rad....not an Astra TD rad like i said

Take the pipes aswell, You will need to cut and shut the top hose to stat.

I think its a top hose off a cav gsi, its got a u bend in it which is perfect to stop it fouling the turbo inlet hose.

Don't quote me on the hose definately being from a cav, as im not 100% sure, but when i get back online with my PC i'll upload a photo of mine

Can't use astra GSi rad on a C20LET astra. the top hose position fouls the turbo intake pipe.

Also, the bottom hose fouls the fan when its in the right position bolted up.

hmmm looked in the bay of a s-reg td astra today and the rads totally different to your one?? its the same as the cav td rad ive got, do you kno what year astra yours came out of?

This rad came out of a MK3 astra 1.7TD, I think S reg was already MK4 wasn't it? In which case im pretty sure they are differn't. Like i said, i'm not 100% sure where i got the curvy top hose from, but it fits perfectly for the vacuum pipes and inlet pipe to sit snug.

The important thing is that the bottom hose should be right at the bottom and sticking out just past the end cap, else you wont be able to use the metal fan....which of course, is essential because plastic ones melt with the heat of the turbo.

The rads are also are not as wide, due to the fact they had an intercooler bolted to the side of them.
