Iím fitting a 2.0 turbo engine ( Motronic 2.7 ) to my MK1 Astra and Iím having trouble getting the ECU to switch on the fuel pump relay.
I had exactly the same problem when I previously put a 2.0 16V engine in ( Motronic 2.8 ) but I put this down to the previous owner having damaged the ECU, but I cannot see the same fault occurring on 2 different engines.
There is a way around it , just power the fuel pump from the ignition which seams to work fine
The only thing that I can think of is that there is a signal missing from the ECU.
Ive checked the wiring diagram about 10 times and cannot see anything that would cause such a thing.
Has anyone else had the same problem with there 2.0 16V conversions ??
might be summit totally different but i had a prob with my pump not coming on the other day, but if i put a supply tothe main red wire on the relay it would perk into life..... the prob was on the rectangular plug,the red wire going to the alternator from this plug wasn't connected properrly...fixed it and boo there u go....might help....i try my best
