Had a look at the car.
Looks like a COSCAST head, but where the GM logo and number were on the pic in the previous post, there appeared to be a small hole. Any guesses?? I'll get a digi camera on it tomorrow.
Talked to the guy.. he said £200 for the engine, and they'll remove it.
These guys are proper hack jobs tho... its a case of chop the wires and cut thru the engine mounts with a gas welding torch, then attach engine to crane and pull out and wait til the car falls off. I'm NOT joking!
Having said that, I'm not tooo bothered about that as the plan is to put carbs on it, hence I'm not bothered bout the dizzy missing as I'll need a new one anyway, and I'll need diff engine mounts to get it in me Firenza!
So, I'm thinking of saying I'll have it IF...
1. I can check to make sure the cam belt is in one piece (so valves haven't gone bang bang!)
2. I can turn it over with the ol spanner on crankshaft trick to make sure it ain't siezed.
Let me know.....
