I posted most of this before but just realised its in the wrong forum!
I bought some Courtenay high torque reprofiled cams and had them fitted. But the car now goes worse than before! Its flat until about 5000rpm where it takes off as it did before (have got a mantzel power box). It also idles poorly.
I spoke to courtenay who said that I should notice a definate improvement throughout the rev range and they don't have problems with them. It should also idle properly. So I think the timing might be out. Is it a simple job of setting the timing that any garage should be able to do or should I take it to a vauxhall specialist?
Is there anything that special attention should be paid to when timing it?
Anything else that could have caused the problem?
