hi
i had a 1.5 td nova van i fitted a bleed valve
pluged the reseculating valve
put 1/4 turn on the fule pressure
removed the intake box and replaced with a k&n
stuck the exhaust out just under the drivers door with no boxes in it
it was a beast
it ran 1.2 bar
at east coast xtream i ran a 17 sec 1/4 mile against a nove gte who just beat me at the 1/4 line.
was it very loud with no boxes? how much smoke did you get with no boxes??

only smoked until it came on boost then it cleared.
with the reserc valve taken off it use to dump boost through the exhaust
it was loud but bearable. i had to machine a plug for the end of the exhaust to reduce the diameater down from 2.5 in to 1in for early mornings to go to work

sadly iam...... i will post a pic sometime-bloody light with s/s twin exit pipes
the plastic holds the heat and thus keeps it lighter and goes out faster lollmao
i used a bleed valve and it was tremedous fun until i melted the HG between the 2 middle bores
iam interested in the propane idea is it just a jet into the induction hose?
will this propane cuase even more heat and blow the HG?
i had a message from a guy in germany saying
turn the fuel pressure up
then if it smokes on boost its too high
so back it off till it stops then the mixture should be ok
no lol...you know after you have turned the fuel and boost up to the correct level you get black smoke before it comes on boost, is there a way to stop that black smoke?![]()

on my limited knowledge i would say no as the smoke is caused by the mixture being so rich of fuel before the oxygen is forced in buy the turbo.
ahhhh right...i never knew exactly why it smoked after the boost/fuel was turned upive learnt a few things today

ahhh is that where the hot and cold idle screws or something come into play??![]()

also, whats involved in adding a turbo to a non turbo diesel??? is it the same concept as a petrol? obviosly a manifold will have to be made and the correct pizza has to be used but what else??

More or less the same as a petrol car, except you can be a bit more vague with the fuelling.
The fuel pump will obviously need to know somehow how much boost you're on. On Isuzu engines, this is a small hose that goes from the back of the inlet to the top of the fuel pump.
If you're not after crazy performance, and just a modest increase, slap a turbo on, up the fuelling across the board and be prepared for some serious smoke.
You might need to lower the CR for a lot of boost.

I've tried mine with just the downpipe and no exhaust system before and boy was it loud like a tractor on speed lol went up to 26psi
