    im having my head removed to have the inlet valves changed and refaced. or something like that, at a engine shop, is there anything i should know about setting the timing back up on these? as i think ill probly ask my uncle to do it as he's a mechanic himself, also ill need a new headgasket kit too, anyone know where i can get a good timing belt kit from?

    hi guys,

    ive recently changed the turbo on my 1.5td corsa to a RHB4 of the 1.7 cav.
    ive also increased the fuel and removed the white ring, i also fitted a frontera intercooler and an old N/A inlet manifold.
    ive got an air filter straight onto the turbo then through the intercooler to the inlet manifold.
    however my problem is ive fitted a bleed valve and im still only getting 0.5bar of boost and wen i come onto boost theres thick white/grey smoke cumming out the back.

    basically is it the turbo's nackerd or is sumithing else wrong?

    anyone know what size outlets are on the frontera intercooler and what pipe work im going to need to plumb it all into a astra? im thinking 2 90o bends, some straights and 45o?

    hi just wondering has anyone out there tinkerd with the newer 1.7dti found in my 02 corsa van, ive just sold my megane 225 due to buying a house with my lass, and cant afford to tax and test my kit car so i looking to have sum cheap fun if possible is it possible to turn up the boost etc?

    you need 51mm internal diameter for the outlets

    Today I fitted a new (RHF4) turbo and something not good. The car smokes a lot more at the same pressure (max 1bar) and not stronger then before.....And at the same speed the pressure is mutch bigger...ect. 80mhp RHF3 0.3-0.4bar, now RHF4 0.6bar.
    Someone help please!

    anybody interested in going veriable vane as i have 2 vb14 ihi turbos which are rhf4v and i cant see it being to hard to control the boost if u used a external wastegate these turbos are no more than 2 years old and work fine thay have been kept in a bag to i will upload some pics if u want

    @eggman:
    When you undo the clamp, can you rotate the cartridge+compressor freely (i.e. reclock the turbo).
    (would be pretty cool, as with the garretts you have to take it apart to reclock it)
    The A/R of 13 vs our RHB4's 11 and RHF4's 10 is also a nice step up. (less restriction, and with the vanes still very responsive)

    I tried to rotate the compressor of my RHF5 with the clamp off. Put it in a vice, tried to rotate it with all the power i have, but it didnt give an inch! Any tips on dealing with this without breaking it?

    to all those who have fitted the n/a inlet,please can you tell me where you took the vacuum feed for the diesel pump from? and how did you block up the breather pipe found on the front of the inlet? thanks in advance, seb

    i pulled the pipe and the metal thing out my TD inlet then drilled a hole in the same place on the N/A inlet and put it and put sum liquid metal around it to make it air tight.

    and for the breather pipe i just put a bolt in the pipe and clamped it on

    What manifold is on your engine, does it have the plastic filter housing on top or is it all aluminium ?

    This is the one on later models: (this is from an n/a model, which has a single inlet on the driverside)

    To fit this, you need to block the breather connection (see pic), and add the connection for the fuel pump (drill a 4mm hole, and swap or add a connection...just like in the first pic.)
    i want to run this inlet as it will be easier to add boost pipes and bigger intercooler.

    any more details on what i need to mod to use this inlet on a 1.7TD astra

    Use the bottom half of your 1.7TD, so all the vacuumfeeds stay where they are. You have to seal the inlet of the charged air, use a blank plate with a gasket and bolt it on. Then use the upper half of the n/a inlet. This way its easier cuz you dont have to make extra holes and stuff.

    i just used that inlet straigh onto my 1.5 blocked the breather hose with a bolt and drilled a small hole in the back for the vacum feed.
    im only down the road in newport so if you want to come and have a gander few free
