    I bought a reducer hose today (51-63mm), so I could fit the airfilter on the right. Didn't do much testing, but unlike before I can clearly hear the turbo spinning at 1500rpm (instead starting to hear it at 2000) and the sound keeps getting higher as the revs go up too. Should have done this before

    Happy to see you have done the above mod it reduces lag but quite a bit
    Owns a white Mk3 turbo diesel with more stopping power then engine power..... boosting 0.9bar, Now De-catted!!

    It was fun at first, but when driving at constant speed (120km/u) I keep hearing the spinning turbo. I drive a lot with the car (over 1500 miles/month) so now it's getting a little annoying. I'm gonna try to move it deeper and place it lower in the bumper to try to reduce the noise for me.

    Other good news:
    I found a very nice intercooler from a BMW E36 318TDS for 40 euro's. Gonna use it when the 1.7 is fitted.

    The induction will always be heard the standard inlet/ airbox do a very good job of muting this

    I know. I had the k&n filter on the other side, where the original airbox used to be. Then I only heared the induction when i gave full throttle.

    Someone's pump has been altered:



    Immobiliser removed, taken out the white polo, replaced the top cover, removed the anti-tamper cover,
    cleaned it and swapped the bracket and wiring for the solenoid.


    Can you spot the polo ?

    The polo is underneath the lower hose. Can i go for the refrigirator now lmao

    i use to have to take them off bosch pumps all the time its a **** job and i had to do it in place if u want a tip push a brake pipe end in the hole where the shear bolts go and use it as a guide for a 4 mm? mabby 5mm drill and u can do the job in ten min
    dream project lotus carlton lump in a viva on ms and 2.1 bar!

    Score, didnt use the hack saw in the end, i used an 8ft bar to lever it off the last bolt (made a nice pinging noise when it sheared) as i couldnt get in there with a spanner/ratchet to get it off lmao the exhaust scroller on this thing is massive! the only thing i think that will need to be done to make it fit is ro unbolt and rotate the intake side of of the compressor housing around so that the output of the intake isnt in the in the fan on the radiator, but also i think that a larger radiator and a frontera intercooler are in order too as is a reroute of the air box intake, so bye bye resonation chamber hello cold air feed ill get some pics up shortly.

    also i found out what the vehicle ive taken this off is it was a 2800 trooper dispite what mind_crash said when i went to his place after i took the removed item to show him, also teh fule pump looked the same as the ones on we've got on ours, any body reackon its got a larger capacity than the ones we have?

    size comparison

    i think at least one of the bolt holes on the centre part is a water intake and outlet, as i havnt checked mine yet do we have those on ours?





    mite have to decoke this b4 i fit it





    if any one wants any more pics or has a larger radiator and/or intercooler that will fit in a TDS astra and is cheap (im unemployed still) do let me know. also i apologise if the pics take time to load, i haven't learnt how to resize pics yet

    it is too, and i got it for only 30 quid too, althought i may have to wait a bit b4 fitting it for a number of reasons including needing a larger intercooler and radiator and intercooler and the other main reason is my parents are threatening to ring my insurance company and tell them what i plan on doing to make me pay for the extra mods, so it might have to wait till i have another job b4 i fit this beauty.
    on another question ive now done the white ring mod and removes the screw cover and i'm now able to pull a max boost of 19 psi and my boost gauge starts to lift between 1500 and 1700 rpm, but whats a safeish level of boost to be using for regular driving?

    With. If you up the boost without changing the maximum fuel then you'll be under-fuelling.

    The fuel screw makes so much difference it's not even funny. Just for ****s and giggles I gave mine a good three-quarter turn and went for a drive. It was boosting at about 1800rpm and throwing me right back in the seat. Couldn't see ****ing anything behind me though. lmao

    Ive had mine turned a full turn, and it didnt make a massive amount of smoke tbh. Yeah it smoked, but not so much to block my rear view lmao

    Also i cant see to get over 14psi boost for some reason, no matter what i adjust the boost controller to. Only seem to get that in 2nd gear too, 3rd-5th gets to about 13psi but then drops down to around 11psi. Weak actuator maybe?

    Mine is set to 1.5 bar (21 psi) but it does go over that when I have the water/methanol injection switched on.

    LongLiveTheNova - If you are struggling to get boost pressure then why not just disconnect/block the pipe to the actuator and see what boost it will do then, if it is still struggling to get over 14psi then you know you have other problems (mine will hit 28+ psi with the pipe disconnected).

    Fuel and boost pressure are related, more fuel gives you more boost, more boost means you can get more fuel in
