Sweet, gonna do that tomorrow then! I've only got to tune the engine as the exterior, interior, ice etc are fully modded, what else could i do to the engine?

Service it!
I need to get some reconditioned injectors.
Teeth? LUXURY! When I was a child we ate by putting rocks in our mouth and jumping up and down.
What will that achieve?
Have you checked the valve clearances ?
The Isuzu engine has a tendancy to wear valve seats and so the clearances get tight, I have noticed a big difference when the clearances are adjusted correctly compared to when they were tight.
If you have not checked/adjusted them it would be worth doing before tweaking the fuel/boost as it will have an effect on how the engine runs and how much fuel is needed.

Fitted my boost valve and got it to run smoke free at 0.97BAR. Hows that sound? can i up any more boost? Goes like a rocket now...![]()
Valve clearances are the gap between the valve and the camshaft, they tend to be neglected as they need shimming if incorrect, worth checking and if there tight definately worth getting adjusted.
Around 1 bar boost pressure is good in my opinion if you want reliability, they seem to run up to 1.5 bar without problems going by what i have read on the net but it will depend on if you want to take the chance on it going bang lmao
I have had mine boosting at 1.5 bar but I decided that as an every day car it was not worth the risk and now have it at 1 bar.
Where do I start? I'm learning all my knowledge of here so to do the work myself, working so far....any pics on what to do?
oh my clocks i bought only give a readout up to 20PSI / 1.4BAR
Have you got a picture of your car? would like to see it?
Heres mine...

Nice car
You should get yourself a Vauxhall/opel diesel engine haynes manual, its well handy for engine DIY jobs, if you keep a watch on ebay they come up for under £10 every now and again.
I have got myself a astra estate 1.7td as a cheap run around. When changing the air filter I found that there wos no safety valve in the mainfold, dose that mean that the safety valve is someware else. As i wos wanting to turn the fuel and boost up on the engine.

Do you definatly have the isuzu engine Greg?
It may be the GM one in which case you can't tune it.
've run 1.5 bar on my 1.7td corsa for a year now and its been fine it made 116bhp and 175lbft but it has had some tweaks
Enjoy!
Count-Can you list your mods?
Fuel pump played with
Boost wacked up
FMIC
Anything else????
1116hp and 175 lb/ft is bloody impressive!
That would be impressive!
As for mods...
1.7 td from a cav known mileage as a base
White polo mod
Upped fuel
upped boost
FMIC with custom pipework and N/A manifold
Full stainless exhaust system from turbo
Cone filter to turbo
Thats it i think, it made that power in a RR day for total vauxhall
No not really, i forgot to mention that was running 1.2 bar and less fuel than it is now as the operator on the day suggested i raised it so should be more like 120bhp now and nearly 200lbft!
Will have to have a play with my td runaboutlmao
Do they go like funk! Shame i have sold it to my dad now...got a mk3 astra estate 1.7td now what form of td have you got....nova?
Will have a mk3 astra
John H? good choice imo
Its the isuzu engine but it dose not have the safety valve under the air filter. Didnt want a car with the gm engine. Took me a wile to find a suitable car. The last couple of days it has been very cold and its not keen to start, fitted new glow plugs and made sure there are getting power. Need to check the cold start setting on the pump and the shims next, if thay are ok im stumped. Need to get it running as it should before i turn up the boost and fuel.

had the same problem with mine with cold starting, had it fully serviced, 2 sets of brand new glow plugs later, fuel filters, new battery, still the same, changed the relay under the bonett, starts first time everytime! think its the relay for the plugs or something, cost about £8 iirc
hi all. I have done all the mods on this page to my satin black rat look 1994 corsa 1.5 TD.
I have fitted a rev counter to my car with a shift light. I have wired it to the green wire on the back of the alternator. is this right as it is over reading alot ( just under 6000 rpm ) and goes well off the clook when you tap the throttle. this car is used for drag racing ( back in black racing ) best time 14.93 @ 87 mph. so I do need to keep a eye on the revs and the shift light will help us get the gears right for the best time.
also I would like to fit a much biger intercooler. what car is best to get one from that will not cost to much ?
