Unhappy HELP! turbo conversion help needed

Ok i got the turbo engine in my Astra Gsi now, everything is sorted apart from the wiring!

Ive sorted the starter motor loom which is now attached to the car loom.

Anyone know why i dont have a red/blue wire for the fuel pump?

Also i have no spark, yes i have conected up the black wire to the coil, and that to ignition supply.

Any help would be much appreciated. Or if anyone in the Kent area is a good with this sort of thing, and wants to give me a hand that would be great too, obviously a drink or two or three is included

The first plug. Does it have a black wire ? If so it's the ignition supply to the engine loom and needs connecting.

The second plug looking like a TC control plug betweeh the engine loom and car loom ? is this right ? You removed your old loom.

hehe i knew you would come to my rescure Mr AndyK

yes the wire is black - so i can just connet it to the battery, or does it need to go to a live, for just when the ignition is on?

yes i removed my old engien loom.

the diagnostic plug is in the fuse box

i checked the voltages,( pic D ) one end is an earth, and oposite (yellow wire) is live when the ignition is on. the rest have ifferent voltages from 2.8v right back up to 12v.

Have a look at this document which I just wrote which lists the pinout of the cavalier ecu loom interface connectors.

    Cavalier ecu connections

For me to help you any more I need to know the wire colours on the astra loom.

Ok i pretty much sorted, the plug on pic "D" is not used so i can leave that.

i have connected the black wire to the + on the coil and then run a wire to an ignition feed.

everyone has been telling me about the two pin plug with the red/blue wire for the fuel pump. for some reason or other my turbo loom does not have this, i have checked along the loom and it hasn't been chopped. Does anyone know how thick this red/blue wire is???

On the fuel pump relay i have a white/balck(thin) wire & a red/blue wire(thick) going into the same pin, i put a metre at this point and it has a permant 12v going to it, is this right

The black/white wire is for the heater in the lambda sensor, the thicker red/blue wire is for the fuel pump eventually.

Can you trace the red/blue up into the engine harness? It should just loop back down to a the 2 pin black plug (maybe 15-20 cm up)

ok so if im looking at the red/blue wire, it goes from the two pin plug and goes back into the fuel pump relay? and the other end of the two pin plug goes to the fuel pump fuse?

ok i have done the above and still no joy, i have two fuel pump relays, is it possible i have buggered both trying to get them to work?

im testing the relays on a mates car tomorow

btw does the lambada sensor get hot, when the ignition is on?

once i have sorted the fuel pump, i need to sort out why i have no spark

I think your problem may be your ignition live, you say you've connected the black wire to the coil +, By this do you mean on the actual coil cylinder? remove if you do. The black wire only needs connecting to an ignition live.

disconnect both wires from the coil and join to each other.

    You have a multimeter?

The black plug that's plugged in to the ignition module by the coil, if you peel back the rubber boot on it and check for 12v on the black wire with ignition switched on. Do the same for pin 27 on the ECU connector in the car, looking for 12v again.
