I had planned to do a corsa xe conversion and so i sorced some astra GTE shafts will these fit my nova with an xe? also i got a kit at the time to fit the xe to the corsa which had the machined hubs to accomodate the GTE shafts will these still be able to be pressed into the nova hubs? what about the engine mounts from the kit are they any use or will i need to get a new kit?
Astra shafts won't fit a Nova unless you widen the track by 100mm. Most people use Nova GTE/TD shafts with 22 splines on the inner end and Mk2 Cav 1.6 inner CV joints. No machining required for this method and you get to keep your existing hubs. It all just slots into place. Not 100% sure on the engine mounts, but I'd imagine you'll have to get the Nova kit instead.
I can supply you with the proper shafts for £180 for the pair which will allow you to use your machined hubs and a nova mount kit is only £47, let us know if your interested. Can collect as your not that from from me too!
