if your gonna run 280+bhp you would idealy want to change your coil for a higher spec one which is able to supply a strong enough spark at higher boosts...most ppl just ad a chip, a fpr and maybe injectors...but they always ignore the ignition side of things, a friend on mine had been using jacobs ignition kit with great success on his astra turbo ...he doesnt have to worry about weak sparks etc, what the ponit of changing the lead and plugs if you aint got a string enough spark in the first place?
I am very much open to suggestions if someone has actual, personal experience with this.
At the moment I can´t afford any experiments...
But as it seems that at least my dizzy + rotor need replacement, I might as well do an upgrade if it´s possible.
And my 10 year old ignition coil with 145.000km on it must have seen better days, too?
If it ain't broke don't fix it!!! Prime example belowOriginally posted by Russ
I put a new coil on my car, when it was about 8 years old and 120k, and 10 months of that with phase III.
Made no difference to how it drove or results at the rolling road.
