Is the 1.8 Ecotec Cyl head interchangable with the 1.6?
Sorry if this is a daft question but I've been brought up on VW beetles and have little knowledge of my engine
sorry but no as the 1.6 is a small block engine and the 1.8 is a big block engine
how about reworking the head etc.
Would that prove to be sufficiently worth it as I wish to get about 150 out of it eventually.
What about Lexxmaul manifold and new camshaft etc.
the 1.6 16v actually pisses over the 1.8 16v - well it would if vaux hadnt limited it. Its an extremely tuneable enigine.
SBD can build u a 260BHP (i think they have now..?) 1.6 16v if uve got 8k spare
mantzle/lexmaul/regal do different inlet manifolds that release a few extra horses
the lump responds well to headwork (ive had mine done) and cams too if u want
plus usual mods like zorst and modded air box and panel filter
theres also a nova knockin about which uses a corsa GSi engine (slighty different to the astra one) and hes got 150 odd bhp with a custom manifold, zorst, superchip and mantzel powerbox inlet thingy
SBD??? do they have a website. 260 yummy!!
Is there a determined way to undo the limitations set by vauxhall, such as the manifold and throttle bodies as i really don't know that much about the engine just that i need a bit more go without the huge insurance.
I'm thinking of:
Lexxmaul ram manifold
Kent or Piper Cam Kit
possibly ecotek thingy
and LAUGHING GAS!!!
noz - really not worth it unless u wanna do 1/4 miles (its also illegal for uk road use....)
FSE and Ecotek - hmmm, thats up to u really
insurance is gonna b a problem, but hey whats new there SBD
they also do smaller throttle body kits, like the 164 kit for £1400 odd
