ok, the drivers side lower engine mount on my supertouring (x20xev) the bolts keep snapping in the engine, its happened once before and the power steering pulley grinded some of the mount away then the belt snapped, so i fixed it all up and its happened again, its only held in by 1 bolt on the drivers side now! arghh! what could be causing this? and is there a quick bodge up job around it? i cant put new bolts in because the old ones are snapped in the engine.
you have to try and weld a nut on the stub to get them out, or drill them out and retap the hoels.
Another way depending on how tight they are is if you drill a hole in them you can knock a torx bit into it and unscrew them that way. Its worked for me a few times.
cheers lads, this is the second time its happened now, also got a few othe rproblems with the car and i dont think its worth me fixing them so im stripping it down :-(
