hi all whats the best suspension to use the nova,it has a c20let i hav coilovers on the car, but they look old and feel tired. How do i get the right spring load as the engine is heavier. Im not shore hope i have made sense.
Coilovers are often praised, but you will need 300 lb or so springs.
Other option is the Bilstein Nova Cup dampers. These have a really fat piston about 3 x as thick as a regular piston, ideal for durability. Then get some custom springs from www.coilsprings.co.uk . They will make them for whatever height/drop you need.
Try it without the ARB too. Most owners prefer a Nova without it & it gets in the way of the exhaust etc when a big block is installed.
my mates nova let used coilovers for a bit. they did"t hold the weight of the engine very well! found the best set up is g max shocks with cortney 2lt nova sping. only thing is your cars stance wil look abit to high on the front. g max r cheap but a reelly good shocker! i"d just use g max 60mm spings and shocks!
Jeez. You cant have been in anything that handles then!
Ive got GMax -60 on my 1.2 daily driver & I have to say it is utter dirt tbh. Yeah it skoots thru bends cos of how low it is but the rebound & roadholding is toss.
The coilovers probably needed higher poundage springs, thats generally the issue. Courtenay springs are very good but not low enough for most people by todays standards.
What coilovers are they ? if there looking abit tired then get them serviced !!
I'm running coilovers with 300lb springs upfront and 200lb on the rear.
Also get your self some poly bushes & replace the topmounts, should help as bit.

Avo charge £40 for each corner which aint to bad, a mate recently sent his back for a service and he ended up getting them done under warrenty even tho he wasn't the origional owner !!
They've got an 18 month warrenty, so if there less than that then you might get them done ?
