I agree benny, i too would not lower mine, the reason being that in london the roads are crap, secondly if i go lower that my exhaust riped up, and thirdly the camber, too much neg will destro the tires..and finally i hate very stiff rock hard springs!!
I would concentrate on getting the damping spot on with std springs...does anyone do uprated roll bars for the turbo? a stiffer one for the front perhaps to reduce body roll? but you`ll get a tad more understeer
As far as I remember Courtenay lowers by 15mm for 4x4 cars. I'll check if I still have the info though.
I'll also see if I can find the fitting instructions for those Irmscher bushes. Irmscher generally lowers 30mm however on 4x4 cars they supply a large 5mm rubber washer to mount under the spring, therefore lowering only 25mm.
Went down to Vauxhall to pick up some parts and had a word with the guy there.
The parts manager there is a top guy. He dug out the old Irmscher catalogue and called them up and checked it all out. He even knew what I was talking about as soon as I started asking and just called Irmscher for prices etc.
Kudos to the Greenock Arnold Clark Vauxhall, top parts dept
Just thought I would let the locals know as its quite hard to find somewhere that can be bothered with the hassle and also to find a GOOD parts dept. Actually, the service dept done a quality job on my crank sensor too....... Need to keep them in mind
Anyways, back to topic -
The bushes are around £80 for the pair which is quite steep. Not usre if they are rubber or poly but at that price I would think they would be poly bushes. Do Irmscher markup even more than Vauxhall ??
You only need the outer bushes for the camber.
They are a solid non-adjustable bush and are used with a 30mm drop for the Irmscher spring kit but any srping doing 30mm or so is fine.
The actual Irmscher number is i27 04 004 and not 727 04 004. So if the Vauxhall parts is having a problem finding it ask them to replace the first number with an "i"
Gonna order a set tomorrow/Wed and see about getting them fitted. Hoping I wont have to drop the arms right out as the brand new ones are only in about 4 weeks so SHOULD (touch wood) just slide out.
