As most of you are probably aware, I am in the process of putting a C20LET and F28 in my cav SRI.
Well everything is in now but the engine is sitting approx 1" out of line. The gearbox end is about 1" too far forward, which is streching the rear mount and obviously the driveshaft on the gearbox end will be out of line.
I have drilled and tapped the rear mount so my origional mount fits which is correct, and I have used the front gearbox mount off a calibra turbo which seems to be the problem as it pulls the engine too far forward.
I offered up my origional 8 valve sri (f16c) front gearbox mount and the geometery would allow the engine to sit correctly, but the mounting holes from the mount to the gearbox do not match and can not be drilled as the plate is not big enough.
I could make up a spacer to go between the calibra front mount and the gearbox, but i was wondering if the F20 front mount would fit and allow the engine to sit correctly.
Is there anyone out there who has done a six speed conversion to a cav gsi or astra who may be able to help me please. I would be interseted to know what mounts have been used to allow it to fit as it should.
