Get the dizzy he suggested. It has slots where it bolts to the head which ('just like in the olden days') you turn to get the timing right.
If you can (and can be bothered) tap the inlet manifold and run the vacum pipe from the dizzy to it. This will help you get more advance when you're on full throttle. - you might want to check with other who have done this that this is exactly what to do.
I had 48 dellortos on my xe engined cav and used this set-up but I didn't have the vacum advance. When I had it rolling road tuned the guy said he couldn't get engough advance so had to comprimise slightly.
