    knackered Head, replace or repair

    Hi,

Just bought a 2.0 16v eccotec vectra on eBay.

only to discover its emptied all its oil into the water.
The head gasket was done 900 miles ago, but i am not sure if it was for the same reason or not. as the chap bought the car cheap needing the head gasket doing.

Whats the best option try and get the head repaired or get a Second hand one?

    Thanks
    Derek

Personally I would repair - if you get a second hand one you wont know what condition its in, may find the car just needs a skim and new head gasket.

Does anyone know of anywhere in the South West that can do the repair and how much it will cost?
    Many Thanks

most engine shops have them reconditioned on an exchange basis which come with a waranty.
