On my Astra GTE, I can only put about £25 worth of fuel in MAX. On the petrol gauge it says it is a nat's cock of full. It equals to about just over 30 litres of fuel. I thought these tanks were 50 litres? If so, where is 20 litres of fuel dissapearing too?
Also, what is the fuel economy for these cars? I know I do boot it sometimes but half a tank seems to disappear after just over a hundred miles. Please help!
On my 8v GTE a full tank costs £35-38 worth of super. That's 45l ish, 10 gallons. I get to halfway after about 150-180 miles and empy at 250-300miles. Suggests that fuel consumption is between 25 and 30mpg. Mind you, I do like to drive it.
Mines got the 11.4 gallon tank, well it's a bit smaller now due to a vacuum situation in the past. I have never managed to get 11.4 gallons (c 51 litres) in it when the guage is showing empty.
When I brim it the guage moves down one section after about 20 miles. However, when I check the economy it does about 37/38 MPG going to work (about 60 miles) with quite a few 6.5K gear changes and crusing at 85MPH on the private strip of road owned by Lord Fulcrum who is kind enough to let me use it.
