i would speak to dave dempsey, he had one on a 16v n/a, hes got a few RR printouts, with a fair old tranny loss
N/A? Oh I remember.
Seriously though I'm pretty sure theres a loss due to the extra weight of components but in 2WD I'd be surprised if its more than 10bhp extra against an F20.
I'd be interested to see how a Turbo Astra compared with a Throttle Boddied Astra down Santa Pod...now where would we find them though?
its not fair now though, cause ive got power to weight that would rival some serious metal
dave lost around 43bhp thro the 2wd f28, plus it weighs a feckin ton!
i like my skinny f16
odders, the wait will be worth it cos serious metal is fun to rival, but it has made my day to day driving much tamer cos i just dont give a fack about racing little boys in their wanna-be cars lmao
they guy promised me the head will be ready on tuesday, this is delay number 1, cause he promised me saturday. The bronze guides are actually a little longer than standard iron ones so hes machining and tapering the ends, and setting in a waste line for the retaining circlips like the originals.
please please please dont let him say its not done on tuesday, i cant take it much longer.
thankx lads for your comments you obviously know your stuff but its not really helping me.cheers
What was the original question?
Seriously though, you shouldn't run these kind of cars on a tight budget especially a turbo. If the turbo goes its £600 odd for a new one and you can't bodge it.
A C20LET fitted is alot more than £1,000 unless you find just the engine and do the whole thing yourself but its a good idea to service the engine before hand.
I would stick to a tweaked C20XE, if he likes it he can go for throttle boddies (about £2k)
cheers i will let him know.
