roooooight, i was chatting with Meady about this last night, and i wanted to know this:
Is the LET just a 150bhp XE with 50bhp more stress on it from factory, or is it actually a "stronger" engine that's "designed" to take the extra power?
After all, the XE is a modified 2.0 8v is it not?
I know the LET and XE share a crank and rods, and that the LET has low comp, different pistons, and head bolts (i think, unsure here), so they are different to deal with the obvious difference in engine aspiration.
Reason i ask is when you're pushing a LET to 300bhp, i'm wondering is that 100bhp more on the 202 standard, or 150bhp on top of the XE figure (ie 100% increase)....
Obviously this is boling down to "how much percentage increase of power can a well maintained good condition engine take?"
170bhp Turbo 1.6 8v? lol
