Why on earth did they use a screw head for this connection???
Been replacing my starter motor due to some of the same problems with absolutely nothing when you turn the key mentioned on this forum. Everything has gone fine with all the bolts eventually when i found them my starter motor is held on by one thread now the solenoid connection that is screwed to the starter motor. The screw head is shreaded and i am in the process of grinding the screw head off to free the connection.
If i damage the cable is it easy to have it replaced????
can you attach this spade type connection yourself????
I have been following the Haynes manual and its the first attempt at mechanics for me but dead keen to get into doing this sort of stuff on my astra.
Regards
