    Polystyrene vs. Polycarbonate?

Ok guys, want to remove the sunroof and have a (slightly, but probably flawed) cunning plan to replace it with a piece of clear plastic sheet.

Now searching here most people go with polycarbonate as its more shatter resistant that perspec IIRC.

However, while wondering around B&Q for non-car related items, I came across some clear 4mm solid polystyrene sheeting (thats SOLID, not EXPANDED for all those nutcases out there thinking of flimsy white stuff! lmao ) for glazing use in greenhouses and stuff. Thing is, its muchos cheaper than polycarbonate......

    so any gen?

Guessing its formable with heat too?

the only thing you can do is test the quality of it yourself by standing in b&q and throw a stone at it from the other side of the shop and see if it brakes. if it dont let me no coz i wont something along them lines for the boot floor in the back of my nova.

perspex is 10 times stronger than glass, and polycarb is 100 times stronger than glass... so polycarb is stronger.

polycarb is formable to an extent. what style of sunroof is it?
