just whipped the head off, and i turn it over to see the threaded end of a bolt peeping through a jammed open valve, ha ha, a bloody bolt. closer inspection and a bit of a strip down and theres some dents in the piston and combustion surface quite reminiscent of animals recent escapades. Also the valve guide for inlet valve 8 is cracked in a kind of X shape. Bores arent scored (phew) piston and head are fine, just flatten off the dings and we are cooking again.
parts required -
2 inlet valves (to be safe)
2 inlet valve guides (to be safe)
dear oh dear, all i can think is that some stray bolt, which i'm adamant was not laying around in the engine bay, has been sucked in and resulting damage as above. the handy thing is, these are the same valves that were the protagonists in my last rebuild, so the new parts should solve the intermittent valve sticking problem and obviously the damage caused yersterday.
Ive just been down to my sisters and picked up the corsa again
