HELP!! STD XE piston pics needed

I have just spoken to someone regarding pistons, and basically they can supply me with forged XE pistons, machined with to give low comp. They use the XE pistons as it had a thicher crown than the turbo, can anyone confirm this>?

yup....but im sure the dimentions are different...im trying to get hold of a mahle distributor myself, i`ll just buy the turbo ones and have them machined.....i cant afford high prices that some ppl are charging for pistons....i`ll prolly go about 450 max!

If you're after forged Mahle XE's you're out of luck, they wont make them unles you order 500 or something. They only do cast ones now!
I'll have a look at the Mahle catalogue to see what the differences are between XE and LET. But to me it sounds unlikley that you would be able to machine a std XE enough to the low comperssion ratio you want. Could be wrong though.
I work for Ford, and I still wouldn't buy one!

well im in a tough dilemma, the forged accralite one as used by courtenay are 105 so about 420 for a set inc rings etc...Gav wants 525 for a set of mahle which are drop forged, but will be machined for lower compression....so do I buy the mahle ones from gav or do i wait for the accralite ones?
