Ever since having the engine re-built on my GSi i've noticed it is leaking oil slightly.
So beginning of the week I jetwashed the underside of the car to show up where the oil is coming from.
This afternoon I jacked the car up to have a look.
And what did I find?
Yep you guessed it a cracked oil sump.
Its cracked around one of the bolts, so obviously the garage have over tightened the bolt.
So my question's are.
1) Can the sumps be repaired?
2) How much do Vauxhall charge for a new sump? (The part No. is 90298311)
3) How long does a standard warrenty on work carried out last?
4) Do I have a good case?
I'm gonna go to the garage on monday and see what they have to say. I'm wondering if they say it's nothing to do with them, where do I go from there??
i knew a industrial welding place in the back of my head (round the corner from my local rolling road) i went in and asked if they could alloy weld, they could, and they did about 6 hair-line bolt hole cracks for 20 quid. I still have that sump, but i purchased a new second hand one from Animal. If you get stuck you can have my repaired spare.
