following on from an earlier investigation and post , it appears that my head gasket has sprung a leak somehow.
originally i thought that my engine was burning oil internally or something, so took it to garage coz the oil levels were dropping and the smell of burning oil was pissing me off - was told to clean oil seperator and clean breather hoses- so i did. It was also recommended i change my rocker head cover gasket which i've done coz it was leaking a bit.
I've cleaned my engine up with 'gunk' to determine where the main leak is coming from and it appears to be coming from under the cylinder head-.
Is this leak significant enough to lose oil- so much that i have to keep topping up from below min. line to top of max. every week.
And there isn't any pools of oil under car when stationary, hardly a single drip actually. seems to lay wet on engine then burn off as it heats up on surface when moving.
anyones thoughts welcome- That is, if anyone has managed to get to the bottom of this page, without getting completely bored!
