I have two pipes from my cam cover to my Throtle Chambre, a big one that enters before the buterfly so wold onily suck on ecseleration and a small one that enters after the buterfly, so would suck at idle.
My question is should I joine the two pipes to 1 and 2 and have 3 as the outlet then block the two wholes in the throtle body.
Or should I leave the small one and cut the big one and join either end of the cut to 2 and 3 ( so its still conected ) and have 1 pointing down to alow any oil to drain to a small container, and if so how do I stop air being sucked in though 1 and coursing problems?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. if the picture dosent work then this wont make any sense.
I have exactly tjhe same one, but I have a cav 90 8v so it might may be a differant set up to yours. But what I have done is spout 2 and 3 in the middle of a breather pipe from the cam cover to the throttlebody. spout 1 I have put a another breather pipe to a small 'spout' on the underside of my TB, which is on the otherside of the butterfly.
I wouldn't bother putting anything else in to catch the drips of oil, because it would take several 1000's of miles before the oil filter cap caused any problems. Its only a few quid, change it once a month if your not sure.
These small ones are only fitted with a nylon type gauze, get a bigger one for £12 - £15 which have a metal filter for a more permantant solution, if you wish.
wehay, snap. On mine i just put a short length of pipe on the thinner cam cover breather, then wound a bolt down the end to seal it. You could do this at the cam cover end and the throttle body end too. I then used the very same filter and housing as your picture to vent the bigger hose. Mine is vented to atmosphere down teh back of the engine, theres no reson you cant join it back to the throttle body after the filter. Oh yeah, and i wound a black self tapping screw into the small spout on the filter. I suppose you could fix the smaller cam cover breather onto this smaller spout on the filter. two feeds and one outlet.
I take it from the photo oddball, its sunny where you are. You still didn't tell me the other day what it is you use to take the photo's with (please don't say camera) lmao lmao lmao I Just want to know what type and how much was it
to be honest ive not taken one photo myself. All the throttle body ones have been at mig events taken by someone else and ive just saved copies. Every time i see a picture even remotely related to astras or 16v's on MIG i save it. then chop it up and host it when its relevant for questions like this.
