i had a few occurances where the selector arm inside the top of the gearbox jumped out of sync. Neutral on the stick was actually 5th, and the stick would only go into 1st 2nd 3rd positions, but they werent gears, the clutch would labour and stall the engine. I took that cap off the top of the gearbox the one where the selector rod goes into, moved it about and reseated it. was fine after that, but its not really a fix, just a temp solution, cause its done it twice since then.
sounds like busted selector (the bit ontop of the box) take it off and see if anthing has broken off... on mine a bit broke off and it kept getting stuck in reverse and the only was to get it out was reverse flat out and rag the stick lmao
Right, Had a look at the gearbox just, had the linkage of the top of the box that looks fine, working how it should. . Moved the rod thats inside the gearbox towards the front by hand, was able to select 3 gears. The 3 little things at the rear of the box, where the back of the selector goes, cannot move these at all, Is this right?? Anyone got any ideas. Can get hold of another box for the weekend, but don't fancy getting the box out while the engine is still in the nova engine bay and also swapping the quaiffe diff over.
On mine i think the butt of the selector (marked with the second red arrow down) was jumping out of the teeth/rods you are on about (marked with the top most red arrow) Visually i see 3 rods, the lowest moved left when i tried to push it, not sure if they are meant to slide.
