Is there enough space available to fit the origanal C20LET airbox and filter with this conversion or is the only option to use an induction kit??
If an induction kit is the only way, who reckons it would be worth shelling out 200 smackers for a PiperX Viper air filter?
dont think you can fit it. the TS had its own box and the engine bay is the same (they are well expensive and rare tho)
i dont hold much cop to the viper style things, a ram induction on a NA engine is only any good after 130mph, whats the point? but i have never had one, ask chameleon, he's got a carbon box thing on his cav, makes decent power. and its sealed, good for keeping temp down of incoming air.
there ya go, arguments for and against (oh against, its 200 quid you nutter!!!) lmao
Yeah it is a tad pricey, but if i go with a normal K&N induction kit it'll be sucking in lots of nice hot air from the turbo not sure how much space the conversion will leave me to run plenty of cold air feeds
You can fit the calibra turbo air box in the engine bay you have to cut most of the bottom out of it. It's just that i wanted an induction kit and didn't want to hack the air box to pieces. Besides, Sean wouldn't be running with it now
Cold air feed on the mk2 is well easy. When you look at the inner wing where the airbox goes there is a round plate, just punch it out. If anyone has one or has seen the airbox on the early GTE's the cold air feed to the air box went throught this hole instead of being taken from behind the grill.
