Right then, In a vain effort to stop my car kangerooing, cutting out and refusing to start I cleaned out my idle valve today!
I took it apart, cleaned the motor and the piston section with carb cleaner, then I oiled em up with WD40.
I actually filled the piston section to overflowing with the carb cleaner - my hands were freezing!
The whole thing was gleaming once I finished - I happily put it all back together and the car fired up firts time!
I was V V proud of myself!
I drove the car for an hour and then filled up with petrol and the frigging thing would not start! Once I got going again the car kangerood a tiny bit. I noted that it kangerood whilst I had my foot well down on the accelerator so the Idle valve would not be the cause of the problem then right?
I'm going to check to see if the sparky plugs are immersed in oil again tommorow but I am running out of things to try
I had no luck checking the fault codes - my plug is nothing like the description on Cavweb - Its green for a start instead of blue.
Mind you, the engine light did not come on today. Thats one good thing. I will polish the car tommorow1 It may kangeroo like skippy, but at least it will be shiny as I jump up the road to work on Monday
