Cav GSI 4x4
I am looking at a buying a GSI and was wondering the diffrences between the 4x4 and the 2wd besides the obviouse.
Is it worth getting the 4x4 over the 2wd
Exact same car except for the 4WD system.
2WD is slightly quicker and also less hassle and easier to find decent ones.
4WD has tons of better grip and handling but can be very difficult to find one thats good. Also takes a slight bit more maintenance (not a lot)
Is the 4wd system good on these or are they prone to breaking. Is there any way of checking to see if its working when I buy.
The reason I ask is because a mate of mine bought a Seirra 4x4 2.9i and something was wrong with the 4x4 sytem so the guy made it 2wd and sold it as a 4wd
Have a quick read of this - http://cavweb-forums.co.uk/showthrea...s=&threadid=62
Also read the buyers guide attached at the bottom pf that post . Its for a turbo but the 4x4 system is identical apart from the uprated viscous coupling and propshaft so all these points apply.
