I have a MK3 astra with the 1.4 Spi engine, when i go round a corner or roundabout the engine dies, it doesn't stop but when you press the accelerator nothing happens.
When you come out of the roundabout the car will coast for a while then the engine picks up.
It also sometimes happens when i stop at a junction and go to move off, the engine sounds like i am trying to start in 3rd but i am in 1st.
Any help would be grateful as last time i went to a vx garage they charged me £45
£44 labour and £1 for the new fuel tank gasket.
I' got a 94 corsa with a 1.4 mpi and mine did exactly that. try filling your tank and I bet it stops doing it. the fule pump is inside the tank and clips to the botom of the tank, the clips brake(cuse there pup) and the fule pump dont sit wright. so when the fule sloshes about you get fule starvation. I had to keep more than £10 in my tank to stop it P.S. if you plan on having a look at the pump then disconect the batery and try not to smoke (HE HE)
