Right. This follows on to the thread I had on here about fitting a 16v Astra ECU to the GSi.
Lobbed it in and it works fine. For about 5 minutes. then the engine management light comes on. I hate that light..
So, took it to my mates at VX who plugged in the tech 1 and told me that the O2 sensor (Lambda) was reading 0+ve. i.e. no voltage or an open circuit.
My car ain't got no Lambda sensor! It's one of the earliest GSi's I know about. It's a December '89 one and doesn't look like it came from the factory with a CAT. They said that all the GSi's they'd ever worked on had CAT's and this was rare.
So the question is, How do I,
(i) Fool the ecu into thinking the Lambda is reading right.
(ii) Fit a bloody Lambda sensor to the exhaust.
And which would be better to do?
