Oddball, i notice that you have a Quinton Hazel water pump, now I went to halford yesterday they said £50, but they couldnt confirm if it was QH or not, but they do a lot of their stuff.
Tday I called my local spares shop and they have one for £20, isnt that a bit too cheap for a QH water pump? how is your pump running? any probs, i dont want to go a dodgy pump which seizes and breaks the belt and kill my head!!
Calibra 2.0i 16V Turbo 4x4 08/91-02/96 Water Pump Eng Type OHC
Eng kW :150
Eng Code :C20LET
maybe I am getting a good price?
a point, GM one is about £65, and similar price for one at SBD.
ok i`ve just visited a few places, now the one i was quoted for £20 is a QH pump, part no. QCP2800, for the calibra turbo upto 92, which matches my engine no. The blades are made of what appears to mild steel bent in 90 degres
Having gone to halfords, i saw the same pump for £49.99 give take a few pennies, this is exactly the same at the QH one, except when i asked them if they do a price match, they said well our aint made by QH, we dont know who makes it! bastards, they have a big notice saying we will price match any product if you cheaper!!
No, popped into GM, and again, it looked like exactly the same pump, even the numbers and various stamps on the ousing looked the same as the QH pump!!
The final pump i saw was one made by moprod, and thats a QH company, and this one the blade were shorter, made of cast alu, and was in a spiral formation, the quality looked superior to the other 3 inc the GM one, which i notice are all QH pumps!!
