I have a 1994 cav sri lowered 80mm on the front and I am getting through tyres like no tomorrow. They are wearing on the inside due to the increase camber from lowering.
Does anyone know of a camber correction kit for the front suspension on this car?
As far as I am aware there is no camber correction kit for the fronts on a cav due to the front struts being built as they are (one unit).
You could lget eccentric top mounts - but then you would need to run coil-overs to do this.
Camber correction kits are available for IRS cars (GSI's, turbo's etc) which are eccentric bushes/bolts. IRS needs camber correction as lowerinig effects camber on them - and it stops the transfer boxes being killed. However as a Cav sri has a rear beam the rear camber is not effected by lowering.
The only other way to alter camber on the front would be to move the bottom ball joint in-board which would require major wishbone modification.
i though about this when i had my cav and there is no easy or cheap solution due to the design of the front suspension set up, the only way i could see for it to be done was to chop out the cav front turrets and replace with either mk2 or mk3 turrets as you can get adjustable topmounts for them but the you would have to use coilovers so its not cheap by any means.
Thanks for the info mate, just wondering if you could tell me how much the eccenctric mounts are and how much will the camber be altered?
Cheers
