How solid should these be? on a few i can press down and they visibly move...that doesnt seem right, but the engine hasnt run very much after sitting for a few weeks.
i am not getting good compression on 1 or 2 and the inlet tappets are easily moved, but are they pushing the valve open?
the tappets are fairly quiet now too
as a result of the bad compression it wont idle misfires too, very lumpy running.
also, can you tell which are good and which are bad whilst they are in the engine still? how do you tell a bad one when its out the engine? i have access to spares, but what do i look for to only swap the crap tappets for good ones?
