Ok last night i fitted my newly painted cam cover but didnt think to wash it first Cut a long story short, drove it for about 30 mins and stopped to speak to Baz and my mate for about 15mins, then when i started car RED oil light came on, but then stayed on for a bit and then tappets got REALLY loud so i thought sheeet and turned it off
I was looking around trying to see if the belt was still on oil pump etc which it was, checked dipstick and was slightly under MAX which was fine. In the end i got the AA out and brought the car back to mine. Came on here and searched through loads of stuff and decided my Oil Pressure Relief valve was the prob so got dismantling (not easy on a LET) and sure enough it was stuck in there. Got it out after ages and it was pretty scored So then cleaned it up with some 1200 wet and dry and looked smooth again. Cleaned out the bore and replaced it and was free as bird!
I went on to change the oil and filter and even pour some oil down the oilways and straight out the bottom again thinking it'd clear some crap out.
Anyway got it all back together and cranked it over without coil connected etc and then fired her up and the light came on and went out after a couple of secs but continued to tap like a mutha ****er! Then went round the block a couple of times and all went quiet, wonderfull i thought. Topped up oil and left it for 30mins.
I was just going out when i started it up and light came on as normal, and stayed the **** on!! WTF!!!
So i turned the fecker off and HERE I AM!
.....help
P.S. do i get a Blue Peter badge for being one of the only peeps out there who successfully removed the OPRV setup with engine, PAS pump,A/C pump and engine mount in situ on a Cav Turbo???? And what a bastad it was!!
