I'm looking for a little info from our resident experts on the boards here.....
A few years back, I heard the porous head problem only affected 2.0xe 16v engines up to and including 1993. I was told it did not affect the very last in the line. I can confirm that before my Cylinder head was replaced after 50,000miles (NOT due to the porous problem), there was no sign of any brown gunk in my tank, all seemed very well.
My car was registered in 1994 therefore I was under the impression I had 'escaped' forn the possibility of this problem.
Anyway, Vauxhall replaced my Cylinder head with a brand new one only a couple of years ago......I'm just curious to know how Vauxhall solved the problem. Did they re-engineer the part???
Just clarify, my tank is crystal clear and the engine is perfect.....but I'm just interested to know about this.....
