Just wondering how easy of a job it is to replace the hydralick lifters in my cav sri 8v h reg. Do I have to take the head of or can I just pop them out like on the ford CVH. Also is it worth buying GM lifters or will any make do. How much do they cost and is it best to do the lot or try and find the noisy one
0w40 in a 12 year old cavalier ? all 4 litres of it will be punching a hole in the ozone layer before the end of the week The only thing in the way of the lifters is the cam, aparently you can get the cam out without removing the head by sliding it out the distributor end, once out the way the lifters are a doddle.
When I take them out how can I tell if they are gunked up or nakered. Do they wear a dip in them like on fords CVH.
Will they not pop up properly. If they are nakered will it be a spring inside.
How much are they.
I put some magnateck 15 40 in and they are noisyer, is it better to use a thinner oil. The engine has done 125K
