the gear stick has lost all sense of space and time, its in the neutral position, but the box is in 5th. I need to re adjust the gear linkage, but theres no pinch bolt on the input gear selector rod at the gearbox.
Had some fun with that on my nova. The bottom nut is welded on, but I thought i'd try and test its strength buy trying to undo it. Lots of swearing later I realised its really easy to undo the non welded bolt from the top.
well folks, AL was right, the pinch bolt is at the bulhead. But it wasnt out of sink at all, it was spot on.
In the end it was the gear selector rod inside that cap on top of the gearbox, unbolted it, reseated the arm, bolted it back on and it was fine.
Oh and there was no oil in the gearbox
One thing i learned today was that the drain plug for the gearbox has a magnet inside it so all the swarf generated over the years sticks to the drain plug and doesnt swim around your gearbox like grinding paste.
