Can I redirect the breather pipe that goes from the cam cover to the throttle body? There always seems to be a small amount of oil being passed along this pipe, which cant be good for the injectors etc. In the Nova/Corsa A competition build manual it says to redirect the pipe to a catch tank, what can I plug the hole in the throttle body with?
Will this give any sort of performance gains (no hot gases form the cam carrier)?
just plug the hole in the throttle body with a small bit of the same breather hose chopped off, and a bolt wound down the end to seal it.
No performance gains, might loose a bit of economy because its no longer recycling gas.
As part of my throttle body conversion i had to make alternate method for this breather too. You can just see on this picture ive blocvked off the small hose with a bit of pipe and bolt as described above. The bigger breather now goes along some pipe, through a ford crank case oil seperator that i bought, then exits along more hose and vents to teh atmosphere down the bottom of the bulkhead.
